Sitting Grand Prix 5 Review | Heroes take top rank ahead of Final 4 clash

Help for Heroes now sit at the top of the Sitting Grand Prix standings after a third consecutive victory in the Sitting Grand Prix. 

The fifth round of the competition, held at New Victory Hall, Loughborough University delivered another competitive day of action.

As Help 4 Heroes A continuing their impressive form, Sitting Bucks once again finished runners-up after pushing the league leaders all the way in the final.

Help 4 Heroes A made a strong start to the day with a controlled 2–0 win over Salisbury Spitfires, setting the early pace at the top of the draw.

Sitting Bucks also opened confidently, defeating Help 4 Heroes B 2–0, while South Hants impressed with a comfortable straight-sets victory against Panthers.

Elsewhere, Nottingham Casualties edged past Lincoln Imps in two closely contested sets (25-20, 25-21) to complete the opening round.

In the lower bracket, Salisbury Spitfires responded well after their opening defeat, claiming a 2–0 (25-12, 25-17) win over Lincoln Imps, while Help 4 Heroes B bounced back with a solid straight-sets victory against Panthers.

At the business end of the tournament, Help 4 Heroes A continued their unbeaten run, overcoming Nottingham Casualties 2–0 (25-11, 25-17) to book their place in the final.

Sitting Bucks joined them with another assured performance, defeating South Hants 2–0 (25-16, 25-23) to set up a familiar final showdown between the top two sides in 25-26.

The final once again proved to be a high-quality contest. Sitting Bucks took the opening set to apply early pressure, but Help 4 Heroes A responded strongly, clinching the second set before edging the decider 15–13 to secure a 2–1 success and claim the top spot in the overall standings.

In the remaining placing matches, South Hants finished on a high to take third place with a straight-sets win over Nottingham Casualties.

Help 4 Heroes B claimed fifth place after a composed 2–0 victory over Salisbury Spitfires, while Panthers recovered well late in the day, defeating Lincoln Imps in three sets to take seventh place.

The next round will see the Final 4 of Help 4 Heroes A, Sitting Bucks, South Hants and Salisbury Spitfires battle it out for a golden ticket and a place in the National Final.
